Several links to and in your documentation are returning 404 not found errors. Please fix this as it makes using your plugin extremely daunting when having to sift through code in order to figure out the things that the docs are broken for…

To give a bit more info, it seems you deleted the individual plugins from github, and as such, any links that go to the cta repo (in my example) are returning 404

Is this at the docs.inboundnow.com website? I’ll take a look to see what can be updated.

    Yes, for example http://docs.inboundnow.com/guide/call-action-plugin-action-hooks-filters/

Both of the links on that page lead to 404 errors from github

Okay I updated the URLs I could find. If you find any more would you mind sharing them here so I can get them updated?

I looked over the document it did not seem very helpful even if the links were correct.

The actions and the hooks aren’t documented well. I I’ve been looking for a good automatic document generator for hooks and filters but have not been able to find a good one. Looking through the codex, or using a code IDE is the fastest way to pin down available hooks and filters.

Maybe I can help though, are you looking to perform something specific? I can hunt down what might be the best thing to use to do it.

    Kind regards,

Hello, sorry for the delayed reply, I had to travel out of town unexpectedly. The major issue we’re having is being able to use dynamically generated links with the CTA plugin. By dynamically generated, I mean specifically affiliate referral urls.

We’re implementing your plugin on a site that needs to track affiliate codes/urls so said affiliates get proper credit for their traffic.

An example of one of these urls is as follows:

    https://buy.domain.com/cart.php?ref=affiliaterefcodehere

It sounds like you would need a custom written shortcode like this [dynamic-affiliate-link] that you then used inside the CTA content area. Either that or have each variation have a unique affiliate URL.

Using a shortcode as a URL is the only real way I can think a CTA could rotate links if you did not want to create 1 variation per 1 link.

Ok, I see how I can make that work. Does the CTA plugin accept shortcodes in the link url field, or should I set that up as a wysiwyg field?

I’m under the impression that most people use the WYSIWYG and skip the templates. I believe if you used a cta template the shortcode would work in an regular input field as well.

Got it working. Thanks for the tip!
