    Hi,

Just in the last week (I have been using Leads on the site for over 2 years) I have been receiving emails that look exactly like my Leads notification emails but for which there are no entries in the leads lists I have created. I am still getting legitimate inquiries through the forms as I have tested this myself. I thought about adding the captcha plugin but if the entries are not being recorded then I wonder what would be the point if these are quite possibly not the result of a bot attacking the form (which has a honeypot). Has anyone else encountered this problem and did you find a solution? I would like to stick with using the Inbound Now plugins if possible.

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Marsha

    Hi Marsha,

The emails coming in are bad leads?

Good leads are still making it into the DB correctly?

Are the fields mapped in your Inbound Form?

    Do you have Akismet enabled?

Thank you for helping me context the issue,

    Hi Hudson,

Further to my last email, I have now enabled Akismet on the site. I thought Akismet was for post comments. How does it assist with bad leads getting through via the forms generated by your plugin?

    Cheers,
    Marsha

Great, with akismet enabled you should see improved performance. We run the email through the akismet server and if it’s known spam it halts the process.

Inbound Now gets spam too even with captchas. There’s not much I can do about it since the spammers are using a technique that can beat the re-captcha or leveraging a human labor network to solve captchas for spam actions. They are out there.
