I have toggled the double opt in option to ON on my lead list but it is not working. Is there another setting I need to change?

Hi Phil I took a look at the landing page and the Inbound Form on the landing page and I believe the form fields need their inputs mapped in order for the double optin operations to work:
Will you make sure each field is mapped to a lead field?May 27, 2018 at 2:28 am #133097
Sorry to be such a klutz! I have mapped the fields as you suggest but double opt in still does not seem to work. Could you please check to see if have mapped correctly. I am a newbie at this and reaching the limits of my knowledge.

Hi again Hudson
I note that currently the redirect URL for the form is set at
Should this be different for double opt in?
or is this the destination required after the double opt in is complete?
PhilMay 28, 2018 at 7:06 pm #133116
I checked the landing page out and the fields were mapped correctly. I submitted and received an email confirmation immediately, but no request to confirm a subscription.
On the lead profile created does it say I’ve been added to a list? Also will you take a screenshot of your lead list settings where double optin has been enabled? Also can you take a screenshot of your Inbound Form settings showing where the lead list is being defined?
If these clues do not help me solve it I’ll send an onsite-testing-support link and see what might be going wrong.

Thank you so much for your help with this problem. It is much appreciated.
Firstly…the lead profile created for you does not indicate that you have been added to a lead list. I have attached a screenshot of the profile. There is a tick box for the lead list in the right hand side bar. Should this be ticked? Also attached the lead list edit screen where double opt in is set.
Second….I have attached a screenshot of the lead settings as you requested. For your info the full double opt in link reads
Is that code correct? I see there is no square bracket at the end ( my coding knowledge is limited).
Third…I have attached screenshot of the inbound form settings showing the defined lead list.
I hope all this helps. Once again, thanks a lot for your help.

I noticed that on the Lead Settings the redirect URL is set to
I wonder if this is the problem as it seems to bypass the double opt and go straight to the free story page…could that be part of the problem?

You could use this plugin to automatically delete leads after X days:
I took a lot onsite and your settings are great. I ran the tests and it looks like the double optin email is not firing.
I simulated the conditions on a test site and proved the features aren’t broken there so the next step to determining what might be wrong is to run a theme/plugin conflict test, which I ask users to run on their own wp instance.
I’m hoping the following test will help us root out a conflict:
If we can’t find a conflict, I can try one more time using temp FTP access for editing code onsite if you like.

OK…I ran tests 1 and 2 and the issue remains so it doesn’t seem to be a theme or plugin conflict according to my logic.
Can you try FTP access once more to see if you can find anything. If you cannot trace a problem or solution I will try to find an alternative way to comply with our DP obligations.

Further to my last email…I have spent hours this morning doing further checks on this (my head is now spinning). I managed to get the double opt in email to work ONCE but due to the flaky nature of gmail there was a delay in receiving the email and I had already moved on to something else and cannot now reproduce it! I am pretty sure I was looking at themes at the time so maybe there is a conflict with the theme I am using….can you please check from your end. I am afraid I can now no longer see the wood for the trees!June 1, 2018 at 2:04 am #133146This reply has been marked as private.
